Only the artists of Persias Safavid Dynasty (15011722) could have produced the bookbinding masterwork that inspired this cover design. Said to have been commissioned by one of the art-minded Safavid princes of Shiraz, the design seen on Paperblanks Shiraz 2017 12-Month Dayplanner was initially crafted from embossed, gilded and handpainted black goatskin, and overlaid with delicate gold filigree.
